COVID-19 Information and Procedures

Cain Exercise Rehab is reopened, effective June 1, 2020, with additional restrictions and precautions in place amidst the COVID-19 situation.


Our clinic's policy and procedure has been created in line with recommendations from the Athletic Therapists Association of BC and the College of Registered Massage Therapists of BC. Further references have made with other professional associations within BC and the rest of Canada to determine additional measures.

At-risk or concerned clientele may continue to utilize Athletic Therapy Telehealth appointments at this time.

Staff Training

  • All staff members have been fully trained in policy and procedure.
  • Changes to the public health situation or recommendations will be briefed to staff and adjusted for on an expidited timeline.

  • Pre-Screening

  • Clients will be emailed a pre-screening quetionnaire two hours before arrival.
  • Clients will be asked to cancel and reschedule appointments if under any of the following conditions within the past 14 days.
  • -You have experienced sore throat, fever, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath, or other viral symptoms.
    -You have travelled out of the province.
    -You have attended a mass social gathering.
    -You have been in contact with someone who has been ordered to self-isolate.
    -You know of any other circumstance that may have put you at realistic risk of viral exposure.

    Appointment Arrivals

  • Client are asked to wait outside of clinic and will be admitted by staff upon the beginning of their appointment. Please arrive as close to your appointment time as possible.
  • Clients must be wearing or come ready with a change of clean clothes that were not previously worn to other public establishments or workplaces.
  • Showering before arrival is recommended. In certain cases (ie: coming from high-risk workplaces), the clinic may require it.
  • Staff will screen clients for fever with a contactless thermometer.
  • A station for disinfecting your shoes will be available at the front door before entry.
  • Clients will be required to don a protective facemask prior to entry to be worn during the entire visit. If you do not have one, one will be provided for a $2 charge.
  • Clients will be required to wash their hands with soap and water immediately upon entry.

  • Accompaniment

  • If you require a companion or caregiver to assist with entry, this is permitted, but they will thereafter be asked to wait outside of the premises.
  • Parents or guardians of dependents may remain in the clinic if accompanying the entire appointment within the treatment room, but will otherwise be asked to remain outside of the premises.
  • If accompananiment during appointments is necessary, please limit it to a single individual unless absolutely required.
  • Please otherwise come to your appointment unaccompanied.
  • Pets are not permitted inside the clinic with the exception of certified service dogs. Additional precautions in these cases may be required.

  • Appointments and Administration

  • Staff and clients will be required to wear face masks at all times inside premises.
  • Additional PPE is available for use upon request or as required.
  • Personal items will be kept in an isolated storage bin inside treatment rooms, cleaned between all appointments.
  • The entirity of the appointments will remain in the treatment rooms whenever possible. Social distancing outside of the treatment rooms will be strictly maintained.
  • If the clinic's common exercise space is required, proper social distancing measures will be in place.
  • Cash payments will not be accepted.
  • Paper receipts and documents will be not be provided unless required. Electronic copies of all documents will be available.

  • Cleaning and Other Preventative Measures

  • Additional time between all appointments has been scheduled to allow for routine cleaning procedures.
  • Treatment room tables, floors, and personal item bins are disinfected between all appointments.
  • Any exercise equipment, treatment tools, and administrative items touched during appointments are disinfected after client departure.
  • Clinic floor, counters, tabletops, etc. are cleaned after contact and at end of day.
  • Clinic door handles are disinfected between every entry and exit.
  • Shared building restroom facilities are available with provided key fob-access only.
