Derek Robinson, RMT Registered Massage Therapist

Derek is a 2019 graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria. He has moved to Victoria while continuing his education online at the University of Fraser Valley in kinesiology.

As a massage therapist, Derek likes to focus on trigger point release, active myofascial release and movement rehabilitation. Derek has been certified as a personal trainer by the National Strength and Conditioning association and has worked as a personal trainer for several years. With this experience he utilizes movement and strength rehabilitation as an essential component of his massage therapy treatments.

Derek has enjoyed an active lifestyle as a mountain biker, hockey player and powerlifter. As a result, he has had to rehabilitate many of his own injuries over the years and is able to relate to those struggling with similar issues. Derek is excited and willing to work with injuries of any nature. However, his greatest interest is with lower back pain patients. Having personal experience with back pain, he has focused on research and continuing education for patients with back and spinal pain.

Rachelle Murphy, RMT Registered Massage Therapist

Rachelle was born and raised in the lower mainland. She was an active child, always involved in dancing, baseball or track.

When she was just 5 years old she broke her leg and required physiotherapy during her healing process. She decided then that her calling in life was to be a massage therapist.

Rachelle moved to Victoria to attend the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and has been practicing in Victoria since her graduation in 2003. Rachelle is trained to treat all types of conditions. She has a developed strength in pregnancy massage (before, during and after) and has specially designed pillows to accommodate women right through their third trimester.

She also treats those who are suffering post motor vehicle accidents (ICBC), sports injuries, and providing relief from the pain and tension caused by day to day activities. She is passionate about her profession and the benefits of massage therapy.

When Rachelle is not working, she enjoys spending time with her best friend and husband doing the things they love, playing baseball, gardening, cooking and enjoying the benefits of a diet which focuses on whole and fresh foods and staying clear of processed foods. As a result of Rachelle’s own experiences, her goal is to inspire and encourage a healthy, balanced lifestyle among her patients.
